Jovem was a collective from the suburbs of Montreal,Canada. Active between 1995 up to 2009 under many guises,names and line ups, Jovem being the final incarnation.The band was made up of a revolving cast of assorted characters and musicians around the core of Pavel Mitcholli who was the band sole songwriter and musical mastermind. The music is sad,minimalist, ambient,post-electro rock. Mostly recorded at night during bouts of insomnia, the records breathe despair and sadness, lost and grief but also bring moments of joy and happiness, and help part the clouds of darkness... Throught out a stunning record, and epic debut album and sadly the only recording from the secretive collective,who quietly broke up a few years after the release of this album. Only one show was performed in support of the release, those who where there still speak in hushed tones about that faithful magical night,who some who where there refer to as the closest thing to a religious experience they ever had.....

Nominated at G.a.m.i.q. 2008 for best new electro/ambient record.
